Environmental Activities

All business activities inevitably have some impact upon the environment.To sustain a clean environment for our next generation, we, as a business conducting insurance and financial service, will provide environmentally friendly products and services to the society.

As global citizens, we will tackle global environmental problems in our business activities, and work towards other environmental agendas such as conservation of biodiversity etc. MS&AD will actively face these issues to be socially responsible for the environment.

To tackle global environmental problems in our business activities, the MS&AD Insurance Group has set "MS&AD Insurance Group Basic Environmental Policy" to outline specific guidelines for actions and work together as a group.

MS&AD Insurance Group and 18 group companies are certified with "ISO 14001." As a whole group, we have an organizational structure committed to tackling environmental problems.

MS&AD Eco-Smile is a scheme whereby points are awarded to MS&AD Insurance Group employees in return for various environmental activities, including as part of their everyday lives, volunteering and fund raising. The accumulated points are then converted into cash and donated to environmental NPOs. In addition to donations, the scheme is also set up so that employees can monitor and check details of their activities for themselves. The aim is to promote environmental preservation amongst employees and raise awareness of the importance of community-oriented social contribution activities.
