Message from Management

I would like to express my deepest sorrow and condolences for the loss of so many lives as a result of the Great East Japan Earthquake that struck Japan in March 2011, and extend my sincere sympathies to the vast many people who have been affected by the disaster.
Our entire group has been working hard to respond to customers since the outset. MS&AD Insurance Group companies set up customer hotlines immediately following the disaster and greatly increased customer service representatives to ensure their ability to fully handle incident reports and insurance claims payments. By fulfilling our mission as an insurance company to assist customers who have suffered damages and losses by paying insurance claims as swiftly as possible, we hope to contribute to the earliest possible recovery of disaster-affected areas.
Since its formation through a business integration in April 2010, the MS&AD Insurance Group has continued to take steady steps to generate integration synergies. Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance was formed by the merger in October 2010, and in April 2011 we made Mitsui Sumitomo Primary Life Insurance (formerly named Mitsui Sumitomo MetLife Insurance) a wholly owned subsidiary. Continuing this trend, Mitsui Sumitomo Aioi Life Insurance has newly started as a result of the merger of Mitsui Sumitomo Kirameki Life Insurance and Aioi Life Insurance in October 2011. Overseas, we are actively investing in business with a primary focus on growth regions such as Asia. Last fiscal year, for example, we invested in a Chinese life insurer, and in Malaysia we entered the life insurance and takaful (Islamic insurance) businesses.
The MS&AD Insurance Group will continue to grow at an unrelenting pace in the aim of creating a world-leading insurance and financial services group.
We look forward to your undiminished support.
Toshiaki Egashira
President & CEO
MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings, Inc.
